Well Bob, this all looks rather splendid so far mate, and you have mick looking after you too.

I'm following this with great interest.

Enjoy the next step bud, and I'm hoping Mrs B is aok too

Paul

Thank you Paul for the comment, thats very much appreciated. no where near, as good as you bust.
Anyway small update . The red undercoat on the pom pom work very well, the Green really stands out now (I don't think they fell for that one).
The buff belts await a final coat as do the brown leather strap.
This diced band needs a little attention here and there, perhaps I should have gone for the 91st reserve Bn, just a blue cap, but then, where is the fun in that. I don't know how people paint in straight lines.
Thanks all for encouragement.

Bob

Looking good mate ( Fell for what. Great technique ) Diced band looks good, Know when enough is enough or you will be going around and around and around trying to get each square uniform.
Great
Mick

Looking really good Bob.
For 1/16 your brush work is very crisp. I like what you are doing here.
Just one thing that you might want to look into; I the back of my mind some where I think that the dicing on the cap for the 91st might also be rifle green rather than blue. Not overly confident but worth a look Mate.
This will be awesome when you have finished it.
All the very best,
Keith

Thanks for that Keith, I will look that up, I have the Osprey book on the HLI as the 91st were not a Highland regiment till later.

Thank you for the comment also, appreciated.
Regards
Bob

Hi Bob,
I have dug out my copies of the Osprey The British Army on Campaign, Number 193 is 1816 - 1853 and shows a print of Pte 1st/91st Foot, 1846 with, I'm sorry to say, green dicing. I have taken a photo of the page but it is a) sideways b) taken with the phone and does not show it too clearly.
The notes for the picture just say that that " The 91st had two battalions in the field; though not Highlanders, it's title,' Argyllshire' acquired for it's 1st Battalion's forage caps a dice band, it's Reserve Battalion being plain blue.
I hope that this helps but Osprey are not always 100% so please keep looking to satisfy both of our interests.
Cheers,
Keith
