After a lot of time out the business, i return (hoping stay again) with my last piece. A Latorre's metallic old bust. Old in time. Top noch in sculpture and casting. A lot of years at home, finally was the turn for it. The pipe was lost years ago, and i'm afraid of putty, so no smoke for my scottish.
As always, painted with Vallejo's acrylics .
After the potho-session i watch some little things must be retouched.
And of course, everyone is free to say (write) the opinion about it.

Suicide zoom to the face

The backbag

The chest

Cheers.

Hi there

A BIG WELCOME back to the bench

A great bust to choose and well painted, fiesh tones have been mentioned but the uniform red looks great

..may I comment on the sash ..it might be the picture but looks too purple ,I think it should be more of a crimson/ dark red .....but I am happy to be proven wrong !!

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

Superb stuff. Where have you been? Anyway, please don't spend so long away when you can paint this good. A welcome return, having a good thing to paint does help though!
Excellent. lots of painting challenge on this classic bust.

Super painting, very melancholic look you’ve given him. Agree with Nap about the sash colour being a little too purple but great job none the less.

Neal.

First of all, thank very much for the welcome and the comments. I'm happy reading these lines, with some old mates again in them.

Nap and Neal, about the sash, you're right. Is my fault. At the artwork is clearer than at Fer Miniature's photo and my base is not the ideal. After it, too much light (i love spend my time lighting) and is out of range. Now i'm giving some glazes with basic red, basic red + burn cadmium, and black to save it while Thin Lizzy inspiring me :) Very usefull the observation to change it. You now, i'm not a napoleonic painter, just sometimes i paint one piece of this period that likes me a lot, so very inexpert with uniforms and dates. I want to put a photo with the change done.
Eduardo, thanx for the note, in hand the contrast between flesh and red is no so brutal in the transition, and i think the cold at Balaklava and the tone of the scottish flesh, that just to be very clear, could make the red tone appear at cheeks and nose. Maybe i'm wrong what i had in my head since the beginning.
Blind Pew, i was lossing my time with personal and familiar problems. Is possible they are guilty of the eyes and the expression of this highlander, mirror of the moments. I hope haver overcome them and be inmune to the situation.

I've got another 54mm Latorre's english to show you when i have time and patience with the camera.
