I've been discussing this with some mates, and it was a post on El Grecos new bust that brought it to mind again.
In my opinion 2012 has been a classic year for figure models. I can't remember a time when so much really good stuff has come onto the market and so many sculptors have 'peaked' at the same time. I won't list any particular favourites, leave that to the annual FotY but I can't wait to see them at Euro.
Cheers

Easily the best offerings for a while, Moz and Carl Reid have been producing some fine work, for which I am very grateful- unlike my wifey!

I certainly seem to have come back at the right time figure wise but wrong time cash wise curse you wife, child and mortgage

Been a great year indeed Del but I will hold off till after Euro to give my opinion on a classic year.

You see Derek, I lived the euphoria of the early 90's where before the web forums the figurine market reached a peak I thought it would be unique. It's incredible to pick Mil-Mod's of that period with news after news and adverts too of incredible scale model figures.

Then things went somehow to a limbo :(

And now I agree with you: This particular year of 2012 is turning vintage! :) And,if Ican focus what is amazing me this year in particular are the novelties in the bust arena.

I have a theory regarding this: As we are getting old ... busts tend to be easy! :) And I pretty well know what's I'm talking about! :)
