Fine looking busts.
I am always pleased to see Duchy of Warsaw and Saxon uniforms. Particular like the metal work on the Saxon from von Zastrov's regiment of cuirassiers helmet and breastplate. Maybe he is a veteran of the charge at Borodino.

Hi Misfit, hope you enjoyed your day in the garden and your Foster's lager... Strange its only the Pom's in the UK that drink it.. Its not sold in pubs over here any more... Maybe the Aussies got tired of all the Paul HOGAN ads.... Personally I enjoy a John Smiths when I can get it... Which sadly is not often over here... I don't mind a pint or two of Mansfield Bitter either on my trips back home... But with these strange times.. it seems that wont be happening any time soon...

Hi there and thank you for looking in......a quick run through my technique for the five o clock shadow....I paint all my figures and busts in oils...
Once you have started your face area and have worked on the shadows and highlights and probably the day after you have made a start.have a look at the face and then in my case add a speck of blue black or Payne's grey oil to the highlight tone you would have mixed the previous day.
Then with a small dry and old brush mix a little shadow colour. Then I dry the brush on tissue or whatever you use .....there will always be some colour on the brush.... I gently stipple the dark mix onto the chin area .....remember less is more....you can take the mix under the chin and as far up the face as you wish......I don't mix the same five o clock shadow every time as it is impossible to get the exact mix again....
Try a couple of mixes and you can add different colours to the f o s ......sometimes I add a speck of Mars brown......but have a go and practice ....

Thank you Mike, I'll give that a try on the figure I'm starting. I've never been happy with my painting of five o'clock shadow, and I've only used oils sparingly.

These are big pieces and impressive , think they are closer to 1/6th and as you see paint up well

You certainly get a lot for the hard earned coin

Hi Steve yes these are large figures and as Nap says closer to 1/6th ....they are a great range of figures sculpted by Richard Bailey and the sculpt is first class..... Enjoy Telford.....all the best Mike
