Here's a couple of photos of a drying box I built that was inspired by the ones I saw in a thread a few weeks ago. The control on the upper right side turns the light bulb on and off to maintain whatever setpoint temperature I dial in. The switch below just turns the whole unit on or off. The red light below that is a pilot that tells me if the unit is turned on if the door is closed. The silver lining (ah, there's always one of those) is an insulation called Reflectix that stops over 90% of the radiant heat transfer, hopefully making the whole thing fairly efficient.

All comments/questions welcomed.

Excellent work Brent. I like the addition of the Reflectix. How long does it take for a figure to dry now?

Thanks for the comments guys. I had a good time building it.

Paulo, I would be setting it at around 120 to 125 deg F (35 to 37C), so really just a very hot summer day (in Death Valley). At that temperature I don't think that I'd be concerned about heavy resin pieces at all (busts, larger scale figures, etc.) Smaller, thin resin parts such as swords and staffs might suffer some warpage though.

Hi Brent,
Great job. Really puts mine to shame :)
I don't think you'll have any problems with the oils drying overnight. My drying box is smaller and without the reflective lining. Depending on the color, my oils can dry as fast as 6 hours. But the norm has been overnight without any problems.

Thats awesome. How well does it work? Does it cook plastic figures though as the heat stays in pretty well i assume with the lining, although with the on off mechanism of the temp sensor I would think thats pretty well mediated? What kind of temp do you usually use?

I was just looking into the idea of building one of these and now you have got me thinking. Can you give more detailed plans of what you did? What kind of temp sensor is it how was the unit wired etc.
