Thanks so much to everybody for the kind words. This figure is not from a Troiani painting or any particular reference source. It was more a picture in my mind of the cliche Southern aristocratic cavalier. I sifted through my large pile of spare heads until I found the right one. After that it was all just a matter of following the picture in my mind.
The manufacturer will be divulged soon, I have been assured that the figure will be available at Euro Militaire from a major player.
A beautiful sculpt, not as stiff as I usually find figures at this scale... This guy looks very fluid and relaxed, as a Southern Gentleman should.
If this was 75 mm I'd by it tomorrow
Fabulous! Another masterpiece! and my scale!
detail works are excellent as always, I love the face most of all.
I envy people go to Euro & Congratulations Mike!
Hello Mike, This is beautifully sculpted, perfect details and pose. You really captured the charm of a southern gentleman with this officer. Very dashing I must say. Love it. Regards, SG
I've never really done a figure from the ACW period before, but this one will definately be an exception. As has been mentioned already, you've perfectly captured the character of a Southern aristocratic cavalryman. I can hardly wait for this release.
That is one "dandy" of a figure Mike ! With my eyesight decaying at the rate it is, I think 120mm will fast become my regular scale for painting, and this gent will be on my list definitely.
