Hi Guys
I was a bit of a plonker last week when my thumb lost an 'argument' with my circular was - the saw won! A trip to A&E and one and a half hours in theatre and the prognosis is positive. I was very lucky that the blade missed the main nerves and only partially damaged the tendon, so Hopefully I will have some use of it.
however, my whole right hand has to remain in plaster for 5 more weeks, and for the most time my hand has to be elevated above the level of my heart. This means even though I am left-handed I cannot hold anything in my right hand; so no sculpting or painting busts.
however, all is not lost; I dug out some old flat figures from my stash - cannot remember where or when I bought them so no idea who the manufacturer is.
the problem of holding them has been solved by using double-sided tape to fix them to my cutting board. The board is already glued to some plywood so has enough weight to stay in one place while I am painting them.
the ones I am starting with are: Crossing the Styx; Alice at the Mad hatter's tea party, a playing card; and St George slaying a dragon.
