This guy has been kicking around for a few decades in one guise or another .
Decided to give him the Dereck Bell treatment AKA the Dettol wash .
The base was intended for another project but it went tits up ; so here he is .

I have lost a couple of parts over the years IE the nose guard and the sword scabbard
but should be able to sort something out .

Blimey a blast from the past, I have this in my cabinet on display and painted way back in 84?.
I like the base work and again look forward to your take on this.

Off to a great start with that base, what scale and make is the figure?
TERRY

Think it's the old Poste Militaire figure Terry MacBeth (70mm from memory)

Look forward to seeing it painted up Ronaldo (Dettol eh, where would the manufacturers be without us painters using gallons of the stuff?) :p

Cheers
Paul

Thats right Poste militaire Mc Beth , but he could pas for anything in that period .
You are right about the nose guard Steve it can be omitted but I do think it needs the scabbard .
It might be lurking in some box of shame ,there are a few

Get an old plastic comb, cut out a suitable size tooth and detailwith electrical tape and putty.
When you've got it the way you want brush a slurry of thinned putty around the straps to soften the edges a a bit mre in line with the original sculpt.
I did exactly that and the end result was almost indistinguishable from the original.
Like everybody else I lost the nasal, a tiny bit of putty to extend the rolled edge of the helmet and job done. Opens up one of Keith Durham's better faces.

Where is Ron going to find a comb, you cruel man!
