Hello all:
My wife recently "surprised" me with this kit ordered from Colorado Miniatures for my birthday. I am looking for some color references for painting of the uniform. Can anyone point me towards a good source or at least give me an idea what colors the clothing should be? Orimarily the shirt, pants and slouch hat.

Thanks!
Mike

Cant find much with colour but there are plenty of sites regarding Chindits if you just type Chindits into your search engine.
Try this one and other will lead from there http://www.chindits.info/Photos/Index.html
Mostly in black and white.
Found this in miniatures http://theminiaturespage.com/boards/msg.mv?id=220902
Dont know if it will help but some of these old chaps are still around and they are to be found as members of the Burma Star association.
Once met an old American from South Dakota who used to fly aircraft ( yes a Dakota) over the hump and into Burma to supply the Chindits. Very interesting chap.

The usual uniform by the time of the Chindit raids was Indian cotton drill BD dyed jungle green , and the webbing mostly dyed to match. There might also have been some use of Khaki Drill in the first raid, because that was the uniform the troops started the Burma War wearing .
I did a 1/6th figure from the second raid a while back , and I hope this gives you a fair idea. He has a large pack modified with a pair of universal pouches sewn to the sides, for extra capacity...

The best book on the subject is Brayley and Ingrams' "Khaki Dril & Jungle Green " , Crowood Press , which shows you lots of original uniforms.
"Jungle Green "could of course come out a multitude of shades , but mostly it seems to have been a very greyish green .
The strange thing on the back of the pack is a water Chagal , and he has a Kuhkri as well.

Mick I found an Imperial Gallery figure which shows you the style nicely.
Now I see its the second one Richie posted. Its a 120 Commonwealth soldier in Burma during WW2 and its a nice figure. Available from Imperial Gallery and I believe El Greco.

What figure did you get from your wife?

Don
