Dear Friends from the Planet,

I would like to know if some can help me get more information about this two books,

Aces and Airmen Of World War I by Alan C. Wood

The First Air War: The Pictorial History 1914-1919
by T. Treadwell

I live in Nicaragua and here we do not have a special Bookstore so If I need a special title I have to buy it in the Internet, the problem with this is that sometimes what looks promising at the end is not.

I would like to get more information on Uniforms, tactics and the flying machines in the WWI, I know that Osprey has many titles but would like something bigger.

Thanks in advance for any help you can get me

Eduardo,

you might post your question about those books on the aerodrome The Aerodrome Forum

The people there have lots of knowledge and someone might be able to help you.

I'm interested in the first air war too but don't have those books.

Thanks Manfred for the link, when I get the answer I would post here for any other members who might be interesting in any of this books or other title.

Eduardo,

The Aerodrome forum is a great site for WWI avition questions. I also check Amazon.com when I want information on books. Many of their listings have been rated by customers who own the books. There is no customer rating for Aces and Airmen Of World War I, but The First Air War: The Pictorial History 1914-1919 is rated here. Just scroll down the page to find the rating and review.

Interesting photo! Elsewhere in another post, on another subject, I mentioned the League of WWI Aviation Historians, which puts out the excellent magazine "Over the Front". You should be able to contact them via their web site, Overthefront.com and see if they can answer your questions. Failing that, another avenue is the 1914-1918 forum. Type "1914-1918 forum" on Google and you'll get it. They have an excellent uniforms section. very knowledgeable members and they answer uniform questions, etc. online quickly and pretty accurately. They also have an aviation section, but frankly, I've never read that part.

Good luck!

all the best,
Dan
