Hi Guys,

Allow me to preview Achilles, as portrayed by Brad Pitt in Troy.

As usual Im painting in Vallejo acrylics. Majority of undercoating is done, except for shield strap across shoulder. I hope you like him so far.

I've had my Mum staying with my family since Easter:eek:  , so this is my first chance to reveal what I've been working on since I finished Hector.

Comments welcome.:)

Cheers

Tony,
Looking good though the lighting probably makes fleshtones look lighter than they are.
How do you like this bust? ...I am in the process of getting one as well ;)
Cheers,
Arthur,... from still snow-covered Canada

G'day Arthur,

I like this bust. The likeness to Brad Pitt is pretty good, and I'm really looking forward to painting the shield.

I will post some pics of Hector and Achilles together, once I've done a bit more work on Achilles.

The skin colour is primarily Base Flesh, with Ivory and Sunny Skin Tone for highlights, and Golden Yellow and Red Leather added for shadows. I think the face is too light compared to the colours on his shoulders.

The armour is base coated in Old Gold mixed with Black.

I certainly like the way this bust paints up Arthur, so get one and have a go.

Cheers

Latest Pics

Hi guys,

Here are the latest pics. I've washed Orange Brown over the face to enhance the suntan and deepen some of the facial shadows.:)

G'day,Tony.
As I remember it Brad Pitt had a very pale complexion in the movie so I think the pale skin is ok.Not so keen on the Orange Brown wash though, too orange IMO.

Hi Marc and Mark,

Thanks for your comments. I'm trying to show a person with pale skin who has a tan from constant exposure to the sun. Its a delicate balance bettween keeping the highlights pale and the shadows tanned.

Cheers
