Hi guys, i'm in the process of starting Andrea's mounted Winged Hussar. This kit come with two pre-printed paper flags. The problem i have is, how do i depict the shadows and highlights on the flag? Is this possible? Would an airbrush do the trick, so that the detail isnt covered? I just think using the flag without the highlights and shadows would look off since the figure and horse would have them. Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

David, I'll give you the same advice I once got from a lurker here (but one heck of a painter). If you put it on a base, PAINT IT. Now with that said, I too have this figure and even started it once upon a time ( :( ) but the very same flag (or two) stopped me dead in my tracks. I like the flag with all the heraldry better but the guidon looking flag would be MUCH easier to make from putty or lead foil and paint. The link Marc provided is in fact for the flag I'm refering to. Either way you go, let me know ;) . I will probably choose the simpler flag so I can just make it myself (and paint it too).

Let us know what you do,
Jim Patrick

Thanks Jim, ill probably have to go with the simpler flag. I love the heraldic flag but i would never be able to reproduce that myself, id go crazy. What did you think of this figure? Looks real nice to me. What made you stop working on it? Thanks!
