Vercingetorix has a great heroic pose. No doubt influenced by the Victorian paintings and statues. I'd definitely pick this one up. The Viking on the horse is a pass for me. Again heroic but more fantasy than fiction. And the horse is just wrong. Ears too far forward of the poll, eyes too close to the the bridge of the nose, and too far down, that groove that looks like someone took an ice cream scoop to the side of his face is a mystery as to why its like that. Nostrils wrong shape and the camel nose looks more like something out of the macejowski and the almost comical 13thc. medieval illustrations of horses than the realistic sculpt they were looking for. The misproportion of horse to man is (or horse to medieval horse, or horse to viking breed of horse) is minimal compared to the rest. How they got some good results on the guy and missed it on the horse is a shame.

Vercingetorix is great in my opinion, for the other one only the Viking is a new sculpt, I think.
The horse is an existing one from there "warlord saga" a little bit modified.;)

Very nice figures that I will have to have evn if both border on the fantasy a bit. If the winged Viking helmet isn't used and a few other mods are made these will be superb little additions to the collection.

Fantastic sculpts on both of these! My taste for larger wants the mounted to go in my "Grey Army" but that other viking is might enticing!

A while back I read this brilliant fictional account of Hereward the Wake, for all those who aren't familiar with English history, he was our Anglo Saxon equivalent of Che Guevara, against the Normans. I have often looked at the book cover and thought what a fantastic model this would be, I think Andrea have come as close to this as I could hope. I also very much like the Vercingetorix, it may not be historically accurate but boy what a wealth of painting possibilities on this figure!
