Acrylics Advice Needed

Right guys I was about to start Youngs Fallujah Marine.


Went online to look for refernces for the camo and got a bit bamboozled.

There's quite a few different types and it seems the Marines had a pattern different to the regular army.

I'm after the 4 colour digital camo desert type. Was this compatable for the Marines Anyone give me a link to a good reference?

Marpat = Marine Pattern, and also contains a USMC "watermark".

Yup MARPAT it is. The IBA vests were in woodland camo or monochrome coyote brown.

Yes, I know, it is Calvin Tan's work. I just wanted to say it is possible to paint IBA vest both in woodland camo (as his boxart) or in coyote brown.

Yeah the cayote brown would look cool, I quite fancy the tricolour after doing the task force blach guy. would this be ok or will I get lynched by the history police?

I think Marines never wore 3-color IBAs. They were usually issued coyote brown version, but they could be seen in woodland camo as well. I have seen both versions in photos and footage from Fallujah.

I'm a big fan of the Woodland vest, nice offset from the tan uniform. The USMC were never issued tri-colour IBA's, or MOPP suits in OIF, and by the time they had the MARPAT uniforms, the helmet covers were MARPAT as well.

Either coyote or woodland would look good! (though my preference, and the way I plan on doing my version is woodland)

I've gone for Coyote as I aint seen one painted that way and quite fancy doing him.
Just ordered the paint for doing for the Marpat. No where in Dundee or anywhere near it sells Vallejo paints.

Hey Gells, I have this on my workbench too, but I am having a torrid time figuring out the colour combinations off the digital camo. Any help would be much appreciated.
