I recently receive a very limited number of resin cast of the afghan girl I sculpted 3 years ago. The bust is based on the well know steve Mc Curry picture.
These will be probably the last copies I order ! :) If you are interested by a resin casting and for more information, you can send me a PM :)
She is about 1/9 scale.

Hope you like it :)

I remember this photograph from National Geographic. Beautiful bust. You did very well with the likeness and the atmosphere of the photo.

Wow, that's some neat sculpting!

It's an impressive photograph and an inspiring example for painting...

BTW: National Geographic went looking for the same woman some years ago and even found her again; aged and visually worn by a tough life. I found the young/old pictures next to each other very impressive.

Cheers,
Adrian

Wild look!

Veeeery likeness.
It seems the photo won several international prizes.

I am familiar with that comparison; she was aged beyond her years, I thought.
I guess this is what life under the Taliban can do for a woman there.
The eyes are incredible.
Beautiful, dynamic sculpture.

This is really great. I had the pic of Sharbat Gula on the cover of National Geographic for years. I would never try to paint the bust, though. I could never do it justice, but I look forward to someone bringing those eyes to life, bismillah.
