Bust 01.jpg

Back in May of this year I ordered the original kit of this bust and like the previous review it was garbage. Massive seams in hard to get places as well as the chain mail filled in with resin. I called my supplier and he agreed to exchange the bust for the one reviewed here. Since there was already a review of the bad casting I saw no need to review mine either. Once I received this one I decided to review it to show they do make good castings.

Arriving sealed in a sturdy red box was an eight part casting in resin and white metal.

Above you see the parts layed out to photograph with the bust and plinth cast in a gray resin ans all other parts in white metal.

Above you see the four views of the bust casting with the only seam line at the neck behind the ear. What looks to be a seam line on his shoulder is actually the tunic seam sculpted by the sculptor. The chain mail was seam free and was not filled in like the first casting.

Above you see the helmet cast in white metal with a slight seam line to sand away on the very edge of the helmet. The two locator holes on the inside of the helmet are for correct positioning of the helmet.

Above you see the helmet dry-fitted to the head and is a tight fit down onto the hair line.

Conclusion:
I was very pleased with this kit and found the detail much better than the first kit I was sent. With the minimal neck seam to clean up and the normal casting lines we always find on the small white metal parts I am glad I exchanged the original for this casting. I highly recommend this kit and feel this will surely be a classic. I hope Andrea comes out with more busts in the future with the facial character that has been achieved with this one.

Special note ~ Don't be afraid to ask for a replacement from your supplier if you feel you received a bad casting.

Thanks for the review. I really like this bust, the face is so different from what is normally done, so real.

Thank you for the update,Guy.
This one is miles ahead casting wise compared to the earlier shockers.

Also I think it was Julio Cabos who painted the box art piece.

Hello my friend Guy,

Great review. The figure is bad casting but highly recommendable.

I'm very keen on getting this figure, it will be my first large scale figure purchase, but the strange folds on his neck worry me, would they be easily taken out?
