When in 1415 Sir Peers Legh was wounded in the Battle of Agincourt, his Mastiff stood over and protected him for many hours through the battle. The Mastiff was later returned to Legh's home and was the foundation of the Lyme Hall Mastiffs. Five centuries later this pedigree figured prominently in founding the modern breed. Owning one of the said Mastiffs I thought I'd have a stab at creating this
Took ages to find the figures I needed the knights came courtesy of Steve at SK miniatures http://www.skminiatures.co.uk/ and the dog via Wayland's Smithy. So with all that out of the way here is where it stands at the moment

Obviously there is a long way to go but as always thoughts, comments and general jeering always welcome ;) Oh yes it's 54mm which I hate just to make it really fun

That should read Waylands Forge http://www.waylandsforge.co.uk/index.htm

Cheers
Steve

That sounds like an interesting project, Steve.
I look forward to seeing the final result.
But where does Waylon Smithers come into it?

K Cos you're an Aussie I'll help you out being all nice like that :sneaky: Especially as I made a pigs ear of the name :ROFLMAO:

http://www.waylandsforge.co.uk/index.htm Seriously a really helpful set of folks if you are near Birmingham or want their style of stuff contact them. They even took the dog out of the packet and measured it for me when I asked re size of it

That's great, Steve. It really does make the hobby a whole lot more enjoyable when you come across people who are that helpful and understand what you're after.
Good luck with it and I'll keep an eye on your progress...Cheers.

Definitely a great story behind this one mate, looks good so far, is that armour on the dog ?

All the best

Cheers Steve Yes it was originally a kind of cyber punk/futuristic kind of armour but I trimmed it all down to a more realistic look, I can't find anything to say if the dog was armoured at Agincourt but there was war dog armour used so I'm applying artistic licence (besides it'd be a right sod to get rid of it ;) ) this is the original figure I've extended the body some to bring it up to scale as well

Interesting piece Steve.
Who makes the knights?
Lyme Hall is down the road from me,
as you can tell I live in a posh neighbourhood.;)

The knights are from a firm I'd not heard of they do some really nice stuff www.ademola22.com SK stock their stuff really worth a look. Hmmm that site appears to be duff it was working a week or so ago. Having looked at SK models site appears they've gone under sadly

Looks very interesting so far Steve. I look forward to seeing the finished thing. I have put a hold on my Agincourt vignette as it it too bloody hot in Athens at the moment to paint - 42 degrees!!!!!

Bit of an update mainly for Steve who apparently has a thing for dogs in armour :wideyed:. The dog is pretty much done till I base him up and do the mud etc on him. The fallen knight like wise, I haven't done much yet on the other knight.
