So I found my huckleberry to start with. It's Model Cellar's Rauol Lufberry

I've had this kit in my tote of models for goodness knows how long. He's been started and stopped my times. Recently he took a spa night in a bath of Simple Green with a good exfoliating with a toothbrush. I primed him with Vallejo Grey Surface Primer to get a good look at him as resin yellow messes with my eyes.

Now I have have to 'fix' the putty seams at his feet and shoulders. Does anyone have a suggestion as to whats the best putty to use? I have Squadron's White filler but didn't really care for it.

I thought I'd include a showcase of the other items in my stash:

Thanks!!

Hi Ben

Great subject choice look forward of seeing this progress especially the medals !

As for seams ..I use magi sculpt

Nice couple of pieces in the line up ...like the black dog one

Happy benchtime

Nap

PS Moved this to V bench for you ...keep putting updates when you can !

Milliput is the better but you can also use magic sculpt. Tamya filler is for only plastic figs (ie Dragon models, Tamya, Airfix,...)

Gotcha!! My only sticking point now and I should probably put it in the other forum is blending highlights and shadows with acrylics. I understand you use watered down paint but what confuses me is how the whole thing doesn't just become the same tone.

BTW, I have the Vallejo face kit.

The standard is yellow green (better to see the sculpting job) superfine is white . In the aim to fill joints between the parts ,twice are good for the job!

Thanks for that M&RP!!

Avery modest quantity in your stash!!

Intentional actually. When I was doing models, I'd see guys with 2000 kits in their stash. Why? When are you going to get to them all?

As I've gotten older, I've learned a few things, family first then hobbies. Oh, I'm sure I'll add more sooner or later. I'm actually still waiting for a Berserker to come in the post, I just don't know if it's the Black Dog Berserker or the cheap knock off from Hong Kong that's floating around out there.

I think too, once I figure out if I like busts better than full figures, I'll purchase more.

Well, I had to make a hard choice tonight. As you can see in this picture, the blue stuff? Well that's gap filling superglue which is kind of a no-no in miniatures but not in modeling. I've done what I can with it and am going forward with painting which is really what these first two figures are about. I'm not too willing to get caught up in trying to fix old mistakes of mine and not having some fun.

Didn't get to do any modeling but I did pick up some new brushes, Milliput, paint tray and a couple other things.

Today the wife took me to Menards (a home improvement store) and I picked up some missing pieces and parts for my Dremel so I could use that upstairs.

I also had to Honey-Do stuff like taking apart some old dvd shelves I had made, realigning my circular saw and putting some finishing touches on our bedroom.

I did however get to spend some more time organizing and setting up my work space so since this is V-Bench I thought I'd put on a picture of my real bench:
