Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments, and I apologise for not updating this post for some time. Its taking much longer to finbish this bust than I'd hoped, but that's due to external factors, not the bust.

Here are the latest WIP pics. I spent much of tonight on the shading of the tunic, and next I'll start shading and highlighting the slouch hat and pugaree.

As always I welcome comments and criticism.

Hi Tony ,
Nice to see this progress and its good to see a KF bust as a WIP , like the uniform colour nicely done , you certainly have brought this to life .

It might just be me but is the VC a little small , might be the picturs but its only my opinion , I would appreciate yours which is as ever valued .

Nice painting

Pedro, Roger, Kevin and Carl, thanks guys I value your feedback and appreciate your comments.

Kevin, the VC looks correct to my eye, and appears to be the right size. According to my research, the Victoria Cross is 41 mm high and 36 mm wide, while the ribbon is 38 mm (1.5 inches) wide. The ribbon and medal on the bust match these dimensions in scale.

Tony , nice progress and glad to hear the V Cs the exact size, I just sculpted it to look right. :) Following matey.

Cheers Ken

looking good so far tony,

like the work so far on the face and the tunic.

Tunic colours have smooth blending, can be a bit tricky with such a "bland" colour to still make it pop.

Face looks nice, quietly dignified, literally a portrait bout to 3-d life.

Cheers

Excellent painting! Tony.(y)
The fresh tone and khaki are very wonderful.
A very polite finish.
Thank you for contributing a beautiful work.
And I congratulate completion.;)

Thank you my friends. I'm still putting the finishing touches to Jacka, but I'm pretty happy with him for now. I'll put him down for a day or two and then have one last session on him.

The final touch will be a dusting of pastels on the tunic and a spray of Dullcoat from above to cut the shine. Perhaps one last oil wash over the flesh.

I hope you like the improvements.
