Hi guys, this is a magnificent 54mm sculpt of Alexander the Great for Art Girona made by Andriano Larucia.It's all in acrylics ,painted early this year.Thanks for looking, Chris.

For Greg:the mix for the purple(if i remember well) is for the base 960 violet+811 blue violet+ black+984 flat brown all in vallejo.For the highlights i added more 811+958 pink and you can add a bit flesh for a dirtier look here and there.For the shadows more 960 and black added to the base and at the end several were made with a variety of colors like browns, violets .etc.
 
Beautiful painting,i love the purple cloak,it makes a refreshing change for once to see ancient figures without red cloaks (y),excellent work as well on the groundwork :)

That is beautiful.
Can I ask, how do you make the acrylic paint blend so well, is it successive layers of really thin paint?
I've been trying this and I just can't get it right.
