WIP Critique Alexandros Boxer

The reeds have been sprayed and glued into place on the base. I still need to go back and paint the seed heads but I wanted to get them in place to see how they looked in the grand scheme of things, mainly to see if I needed to make any more. I'm happy with things so far. My plan is to now add some water lilies mainly on the side with the rushes and petering out to leave a bit of open water in the direction the figure will be facing. I'll also be adding a bit of pondweed/algae in and around the reed bed (to hide stuff that needs to be hidden )

I blame Del, he planted the seed (pun intended)

The lily pads will need to wait till the weekend, I need a new leather punch

In the meantime I've shifted my attention to the figure, starting with his breeks. I used some Ultramarine Blue and took the edge off it slightly with a drop of Burnt Umber. More white was added gradually to get a scale of 5 (ish) values. I might have to go a bit darker with the shadows, if so I'll just add a little bit more BU to the original mix.

I was halfway through this very scene last year! Sadly my resin pour went horribly wrong I'm having a rethink now, yours is looking dead smart though.

This one's pretty much done now, I maybe add a few small bits to the base but I'm still undecided. It's a nice figure to paint, highly recommended.
