Here my first sculpted figure: An Alienhead in 120mm Size (5 Eurocent Coin as Scale Indicator). This was my first attempt in Sculpting. The Plan was, to make some Kind of Multiposefigure with different arms and legs and maybe the Body to have more possibilities of combination. The Head will be a bit resculpted, but all in all, I am quite satisfied with it. The next Tackle is to make the Rest :( , witch is on my list of sculpting things amongst many others. Made of Miliput I found out, that sculpting with Magic Sculpt is far better because of its consistence.

Hey Frank, I see "page cannot be displayed" errors when I try to view images. Check your links and see if you can re-post images. Looking forward to seeing your efforts!

Frank - I suppose you should count me as a "traditionalist" in that I'm really more interested in military figures vs. fantasy or SF figures, but I can recognize a real sculpting challenge when I see one. Good beginning I would say! Are you working from an armature at all?

All the best,
Dan

Dan, thanks a lot for your kind words! I am always glad to hear comments from collectors like you who are not so in the fantasy field!! As I will continue sculpting, I think I will tackle sooner or later the field of military figures! Being a "big fan" of Bill Horan and studying his work as often as I can I sure will take the challenge in skulpting some day militaryfigures!

Frank, Do the subject that YOU like. Fantasy or military, you'll find the best work comes from subjects that interest YOU the most.~Gary

Gary, sure, that´s right! I have begun doing such stuff because I am mainly a film Buff and these subjects let me learn the principles of sculpting better than starting, say, with a Napoleonic Soldier. But my main interest is the figure itself and I have a lot ideas for modern day figures and Vietnam related stuff. And someday I will do this work, too!

I would like to know if here are more members concentrating on the more fantastic sector of our hobby! Anyone else?

Jiver! You are here, too?! Great to meet you here! Hope to read and see something new from you these day! Keep it going!

Frank :)

Hi Frank...I like how it's coming along..the head is a very complicated piece and you've got some great interesting detail going on there...look forward to seeing how you progress with the rest.

And it's great to see some more fantasy pieces taking shape on here.

All the best..Roy.

Thanks a lot, Roy! At the moment, I am busy with staying alive  , because of the heat wave we are all suffering from! But as soon as it will be a little bit cooler I grab my modelling stuff and go to the workbench again.

The Alien is one of my most loved designs so far. Being a fan of Giger and his work, I always wanted to do something like that. But not to copy it detail for detail! I like to include my own "style". The Body will follow and we will see how it works. I have begun sculpting him, but I would like to add a bit more details before posting pics.

Do you sculpt or paint fantasy, SF or horror stuff, too?

Frank

Hi Frank...I don't paint much for the past few years...but I sculpt a little bit of fantasy occaisionally..I have several pieces in mind but always something gets in the way..

We could all do with a bit more of that precious time.

Roy.
