In the meantime I have become intrigued a bit by this "chariot" and discovered a website "Sumerian Shakespeare", dedicated to Sumerian history, art and culture.
Here you can find several articles on the war carts used in Sumer, amongst them one called A Model of a Sumerian War Chariot by Stefan Rosell, a Swedish carpenter. It contains some very interesting information and thoughts...
