I am Richard Kapuaala. I've been checking out this site and I'm very impressed with all the talent, so I decided to join. I started sculpting again 6 years ago. I hadn't sculpted in about 12 years at that time. I'm looking forward to participating as soon as my work gets good enough to show.

Hey Richard, welcome aboard! It doesn't matter if you feel your sculpting is good enough to show here or not. All that really matters is that you are sculpting. What better way to get some advice than to post on here?

Looking forward to seeing your work and your progression.

What do you like to sculpt? What time periods?

Jim,
I don't have any specific time periods. I like to sculpt some of my heros. They are some times fictional and sometimes historica and include people from all walks of life and cultures.
Some of my more recent works have been King David Kalakaua, Einstein, Tesla, Mark Twain, Nelly Bly, and a few people that worked on the Hawaiian Railroad. I've also done a couple of aurthors like Steinbeck and about 4 studies of Lincoln.

I (as well as everyone else I'm sure) would love to see some figures sculpted and painted as well from Hawaiian history and lore. I'm sure these would make for some VERY colorful figures. Also, figures which are mostly ignored by main line figure companies.
