I think the MC camo HBT jacket has exposed buttons and simpler chest pockets.
The basic cut is the same, but the army version is slightly more complicated details.

The easier conversion I think would be to turn into the 2nd pattern US Army HBT's which were pretty common in Normandy as well.You would need to add buttons, no reinforced knees,etc .....

USMC Camo Utilities were in use before Normandy and are actually different than the Army Camo fatigues
