Cheers Gary. I have refined it now just got to block some paint on to check it looks right. Had to take a bit off the other side to balance it out. Will post pics soon :)

If you want things just that bit smoother, cut a square of wet and dry, about an inch, roll it up tightly, and just rub that over the area.About 400 or 600 grade will do it nicely, and it will just finish it off after the files.

Here he is with a bit of oil daubed on to show it better. I think it suits the figure more like this. All I got to do now is work out how to paint him properly.

Graham, it's easy mate. Just remember to tab him down to a decent sized bit of hardboard, draw an arrow with marker pen from top right or top left to remind yourself where the lights coming from, and use the shading to emphasize the form (y)(y):).
Enjoy, Gary.

Exactly lol. He is stuck to a card now ready for inspiration. Not had time to do anything all week but I need to concentrate on one thing at a time or I will just flit about and get nowhere :)
Oh I do that all the time:(. The most inspiring book I've ever read for painting flats was "The Art of the Flat Tin Figure" by Mike Taylor. It's out of print, but you might get one second hand.
Regards, Gary.
