Always good to see our native Māori represented in miniatures.
Some nice aspects like options of taiaha (spear) & mere (sharpened club).
Personally would have liked to have seen flax skirt & feathered cloak rather than fur - not a lot of large furry animals in NZ ;-)
Uncomfortable with braids in hair, canvas cuffs & heart in hand - more “Dead Lands” than history.
Good on Altores for having a go, maybe others will come, we deserve more diverse subjects representing other cultures.

Good evening! Indeed, we relied on the Dead Lands. Unfortunately, we read the reviews and they said that the images in this film are quite reliable ... We may have made mistakes because of this. I'm sure you deserve more and if you can help with reliable material, I'm sure we will have a new Maori figure.

Full marks to Altores for choosing subjects that other manufacturers shy away from. Sadly we treated the Maoris shamefully in the 19th century (and lots of others too!)
