Hi every one I just got this figure of Rudolph Valentino from the film "Blood and Sand" in from France and thought i would share the link to Rémy's blog page.

You can see some in progress shots on the Kings Road Face Book page.

He is just a stunning figure. He is 1/32 scale like all of our other pieces and I am not sure when he will be out. I am not going to rush him. I need to get all of his molds just right.

Here is a couple of shots so you do not have to click the links if you do not want too.

When he sent me the first pictures I was blown away. We had talked about doing a more stylized version for the costume, so he did not have to do all the lace. The character has more then one costume like this. So I did not think it would be an issue. But after I sent him a link to a short version of the film, he sent me a photo of the pants in progress. He said it was fun. Rémy likes to challenge himself. He sure rose to the challenge here. The likeness is spot on as well.

I get a lot of emails complementing the quality of the sculpts and I think I may start forwarding them to you guys.

Well after seeing what people said about the Andrea figure I was kind of worried about my decision to do Valentino from this film. The fact that it was a costume with an unlimited color pallet and that the author considered "Blood And Sand" an indictment of bull fighting rather then an endorsement of it made me feel a little better about my choice. If you read the book or see the film you will see what I am talking about. It paints a very unflattering picture of the people who are in control and how they exploit the young men who fight the bulls. It was not just the poor animal that was being put on display for the cheering crowd. This film made Valentino an A list star and that is also part of the reason for doing the figure. If you see the film he never gets close to a bull, it is all cut aways of him. I am not a fan of bull fighting either, but I am a fan of Valentino. And he is great in this film.

Hi jeff,
Amazing sculptures with exquisite anatomical position, but also relief projects in uniform, Matador is excellent.

The master just emerged from his one, and I hope only trip into rubber. The master itself is in great shape. Only some very small bits of glue to clean up so the figure is going forward.

Yes we have plans for more figures in the Entertainers range. I will not say any more at the moment. I should be back to work on the new figures next week. I have an event that is taking up all my time at the moment, but that will be over this weekend. Then it will be back to getting Valentino and Alfred Austell Cunningham out.
