Hi All,

Thanks for reading. I am looking at an English Civil War major conversion and a minor modification on two different figures. Both will have a pistol stuck in his boot.

The ECW is a favorite period of mine and I am just starting Malcomb Wanklyns Decisive Battles of the English Civil War having just finished a couple of fictions on the same subject. By the way, any suggestions for a good read, both fiction and nonfiction would sure be appreciated.

Now to the question, in various readings I have read the cavalry would stuff an extra pistol into a boot for fast access in the heat of battle. I also understand that the bucket boots were pulled up to protect legs during action. I assume my friends across the pond will see many more illustrations of the ECW (and thirty years war for that matter) than I will over here...are the pistols shoved into the pulled up boot? I can't quite picture that as easily as I could imagine stuffed into the pulled down bucket version but the descriptions are given as they ride into the fray.

A bit of an abstract question but will be of help if someone could clarify for me?

thanks

Kevin D.
