Just finished this Castle Miniatures offering of an English Officer in the service of the East India Company, and his friend. I picked it up in Toronto at the Sword and Brush show held this past September. Pictures taken with my iPhone, so apologies if the quality is a little off the mark.

Was this sculpted by danilov?

He did two very nice British figures with Dogs a few years ago for St Petersburg and they were subsequently released by , I think, Dimitry Baev. Unlike many efforts I've seen his ability to sculpt dogs is outstanding and he then manages to make them look like their owners.

Danilov 51st Regt with Dog

Lovely work on this, I think it is a kit I need to get into the grey army.

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement everyone. I dug up the box top but it didn't say who the sculptor was, a talented fellow who ever he was. I think Castle Miniatures has a few others like this one, with dog and master forming a matched pair.

Great job. I've never quite liked this figure, but your painting and presentation has changed my opinion.

Hi Glen

I like this a lot nice painting...I bet those whites were fun!!

the way the 2 interact and look similar works well , not seen the others Keith mentions but I bet they are good as well

Thanks for sharing

My thanks to one and all, I'm glad the character of the figure was brought out as it was that very feature that attracted this figure to me to start with. There's just a certain "Englishness" about him that begs to be brought to life. The other figures in the range look really good too.

Nice painting, Glenn! Thank you for being the first one to published photos of this painted figure.
Keith, you are right, this figure was sculpted by Vladimir Danilov. This time, he've made figure in 1/24 scale (75mm).
