Hi Guys,

here is my latest figure. It's an old Andrea kit and a a little bit of a rough sculpt but its a good likeness. I painted this as a little part of larger project by some Texas Painters that Bob Bethea thought up.

It was a fun, quick paint. The base is minimalist as it wont be on there long.

Its painted in Acrylics.

Sorry for the I-phone pic's. Still trying to learn my new camera

You've made a lovely job of that Mike (and I quite like the base) I especially like the waistcoat tones

Cheers
Paul

Thanks Paul!

Very nice Mike, as you say a good likeness. You have done a good job on painting him. I agree with Paul, the base suits the figure.
Regards

Thanks Bob

Ken

Thanks for looking Ken

Nice! How'd you make the base?

Chaz,

The wood was purchased from a forum member. It's called "Live Edge" an American term. PM me and I'll send you his information. I used a standard ground work method. Carved the top of the base. Taped it off, added putty, let it semi cure then added ground work material and shot it with an Air Brush.

Mike, Great job on the old Andrea kit from movie-Rio Bravo as John T. Chance. Andrea did some nice likeness of John Wayne. Nice job on the vest, boots-nice leather look. Did you paint the entire figure in artist oils or acrylic? Your blue shirt turned out good as well! All around great effort!

I too like the way you pulled off the base, groundwork too. I will send you a PM to get the information. Think the figure looks great on the rock outcropping. Thanks for sharing your work with us! I appreciate it!
