Hello Mathieu,

Overall he looks good. The blue coat and pants are good. The drum turned out well too. The only thing I would suggest is to add some snow to his pants, bottom of his coat and maybe the top of his shoulders. Keep up the great work Mathieu (y)

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the comments. Do not worry snow is on its way! As you can see the base is not done yet so the rest of the model will be snowed in at the same time!

The colours look good for the situation - faded and well worn. I agree about adding some snow on the figures. Is it my eyesight or is there only one head for two figures?

The head of the adult is yet to be added. It is actually at the end of one of my pin vise ready to be painted!

Mathieu,
good stuff! I like the weathering and muted tones, it works wonders on this piece to emphasize the cold hardships they are obviously enduring. Keep us posted on this one!

The face of the kids is a base of Basic Skintone VGC shadowed with different degrees of Dark Flesh VGC and Liche Purple VGC. The highlights vary from Light Flesh VGC, Ivory VMC and pure white for the final touch everything solidify with a few glaze of Sunny Skin Tone VMC.

By the way VMC = Vallejo Model Colour and VGC = Vallejo Game Color

Here is a picture of the model fully assembled:

A view from the front of the adult:

A lot of work still to be done. The two faces need to be more harmonized! The scarf of the adult only received the base coat. Four more days before the contest! It will be tight!

Once again thanks for the comments!

Mathieu,

You have painted this figure (wich is one of my favorite's)tremdously well. I don't have the figure in the grey army but i gonna order it very soon, that's for sure when see this.
The only thing i wanted to know, where on this planet is Iqaluit??

marc

Iqaluit is on Baffin Island in the Canadian Arctic. It is on the East coast right above the province of Quebec and to the west of Greenland. It is at the 63rd parallel 200 km south from the Arctic Circle. Here is a map from the Canadian Weather Service where you will be able to see the location of Iqaluit:

Thanks Mathieu,

As i see it is with you just as cold as here in the Netherlands. Man, i wish it is gonna be spring now. I hate that cold wind, and cold weather.
But when it is cold it looks like you paint the nicest things.
Keep Warm and show us more nicely painted figures.

Marc.

Here is "Le Debut de la Fin - Russie 1812" The project is done! Obviously a few correction could be done but at one point we have to set limits and one day of rest before leaving for the Montreal Exposition will be appreciated

So here is the face being presented...

Thank you guys for all the comments! I think I ended with something good for my second historical mini ever... ;)

Wished my 2nd figure looked this good. The snow realy made a difference and brought the scene to a great realism.
