The horse is a bit wooden - as some Andrea horses can be - but I love the old timey feel of the cowboy.
Will definitely acquire when someone in the UK starts stocking them

Looks like they used lots of Bits from their Son of the Morning Star 90mm Figure!! Look at the face and body!!
Still a beautiful peice though.

Nice piece.....but....rifle and rifle boot are in a very strange place....bloody uncomfortable and....hope he never has to slide it out in a hurry!

I think it's based on this illustration by Frederic Remington - and so the horse is meant to look out of shape.

It's very well done in my opinion. I'm personally a bit annoyed as I have a personal conversion/sculpt of the same subject on the go but haven't ever got around finishing it. Now they will be everywhere darn it!

Also it looks as if the sculptor has made a Winchester 73 which is a short and comparatively light weapon.

Stunning figure .I have Son of the Morning Star and I don't think any of the parts are "recycled " I think both horse and rider are spot on .Love it when Andrea does something truly impressive !

I absolutely love this figure. Nice cowboy subjects like this are few and far between especially in a larger scale. A shame that it's metal and not resin.

As far as I'm concerned this is the kit of the century !!! . Regarding the horse , well it was more likely to have been a cow pony . These were small nimble beast easy to manoeuvre around dumb animals with large pointy horns (cattle) and so looks just right . The only concern I have is the placing of the rifle . The figure is right handed judging from the holster , so the rifle would be positioned on the right hand side to be able to draw it out from the left hand and bringing up to the right shoulder while the right hand comes up to the trigger . Frederic Remington is one of my top 5 favourite artists and sculptors and I would dearly love to own a piece of Remington's work but this is about as close as I think I will ever be able to afford .

I think it`s a great model. If you are right handed you might want the Lariat/Lasso ready for use on the right side in front of you - the rifle is for secondary jobs. Wonder if the rifle can be left off without much effort.

I just thought I would post this picture . It's from The Cowboys in The Old West Series by Time Life . I think it answers the question that no one is right or wrong where equipment was placed it seems to be what ever the rider felt at was the best place for it .
