The James Dean figure is incredible. It's a great likeness not to mention study model for seasoned/ budding sculptors. ~Gary

Gary I am with you on this one, I just hope the fit is as good as the sculpting, shame its not 90mm, but I will still have one. I think I would loose the Flat Car.......

Dave

Very nice but why not Dean from film. Do they have right or not? The same Young bust with Russell Crowe. I do not understand this.

Hi Krosnov

Its a portrail of Dean in “Giant” his last film.........

Yes the bust from Young is very good, but I just meant figures at 54mm, sorry to confuse

Dave

Thanks that was the picture I was looking for, sorry for the mistake I was looking at it on IMDB as well and forgot that they list the latest film first........oooops, great pic though

Here is a painted version of the Figure.

Dave, thank you very much. I sometimes write before I think. Any way many nice figures in last years. Good for us all.

I never saw the movie, but I have to agree that this figure is brilliantly sculpted: awesome!

I also agree that the car "backdrop" is beyond lame. It is a "waste" piece that Andrea, no doubt, will charge for. For those wishing a car, a 1/32 scale model kit or die-cast will no doubt fit the bill. But one may find it difficult to match the precise model of car. Non-descript "phaeton" models are not exactly thick on the ground.....

Yes Pete we know. I am always happy because I will bye this figure. But sometimes I wonder is making figures like this is ethical. On this world everything has a price ,so the figures also have price. And famous film faces have price. Does this mean that this market is so small that producer can not buy copyrights? If so then why cheat and look for faces and caracters that will sell well. I have two feelings , one I am happy to have such figure and anather feeling that something not right. This producer name some of his products oficial Asterix and Obelix and some products - we all know who they are. I finish now for this is very hard subject. I hope such products will not bring trouble one day to producers.

As some one who has looked in to the licensing of a famous actor. I found out quick that the people who hold the rights to these famous faces want an astounding sum of money from you no matter how small your project. Some may have standard licensing fees but most are asking things like how much can you give us. When they ask this it it not about what you can afford it more about how deep are your pockets. Most do not even want to talk to you if you are not doing your project in numbers that are under a few thousand. I have heard about a few of the families that still hold the rights to loved ones being very fair, but most of the license holders are corporations that are out to make money any way they can. They get huge fees up front and want a piece of every item sold, it gets really crazy.

Jeff,
thanks for that piece of info. I suspected that there was a reason so many of these kinds of figures are given a semi anonymous descriptive title. I suppose its akin to those Hollywood movies that start with "...this movie was inspired by the events ....." which allows a degree of latitude from close as possible up to turning a murder trial into a song and dance show..

Ok, the figure who may resemble James Dean who may be from a movie.....it would be a great piece to study (as a fumbling wannabe sculptor) its just hard to justify shelling out that much for a kit, the corner of a car of which will join the bits box and never been seen again....

As for the lady figure, a cheesecake pin up style of sculpt. Ok, I suppose, this one just doesn't 'speak' to me.

Still, Good sculpt on the James Dean figure.

Cheers
