Neither are my kind of things. But as far as figures are concerned, probably the best offerings from Andrea in recent months. Very, very impressive.

Both are very nice but the 90mm El Cid is the size and era I like. I have only painted one Andrea figure and the fit was not that great, hopefully these are better.

Pirate's nice, if a little Hollywood.

The El Cid looks pretty sweet overall, but the mail texture is way overdone. Won't bother sales much I'm sure.

Yes Mike, that's the thing with Andrea. Take the pin up series for example, where you have a feasible comparison between Andrea and Pegaso. Modellers obsessed with girl kits generally remark that they prefer Pegaso to Andrea because Andrea girls don't fit well. That said, I am increasingly biased towards the Andrea girl kits thanks to their context and obvious references.

Mike's dead right about the pirate but it's calling to me.
I have in the past cosidered abandoning wife and children to run away and live in Disneylands Pirates of the Caribbean...........buy me buy me.......that's it I'm gone

Me too, every Andrea kit I've ever built was beautifully sculpted, cast and packaged.

I probably wont buy either of thee, but my preference would befor El Cid, simply because I watch the movie the other night . The pirate seems like a 54mm cliche.

Wow!!! I love both. The pirate has an awesome dynamic stance to it, not like many that have come out recently, Would like to see it in 70mm or above though. El Cid has a poinient pose about it. Like to see a few of these painted up
