I will echo Clarence's opinion of Vallejo Yellow. Try GW brand or even P3 from Privateer Press, both game company brands. They have superior covering power. I also would not recommend using alcohol to dillute acrylic paints. You are off to a good start though.

First figure? Sorry - I don't buy it. It's way too good.

First figure you're happy with maybe. First figure you feel is good enough to show on a public forum. But not "first figure" period.

If it really IS your first figure, then you must have some other artistic background / experience.

Hello,

Another oil painter:) The "family" grows:D
Wonderful face you have done for a 1st time, congratulations:)

I have to agree with Steve, it's a little too good to be a "first figure" and it's not exactly a novice choice to begin with, but the head was very nice indeed, and accidents are easily fixed, strip it back, and start again, should be good to go in a day or so's work ;)

Guys, this is my first figure. It is not like I just took it out of the box and painted at the first attempt. The head, I repainted couple times to achieve the effect I was happy with.

It is the same story with the cloak right now. It is been repainted with lighter yellow base and it is waiting for highlights and shadows.

The case might be , I am not in rush. I would rather repaint one figure multiple times than waiste couple figures for painting lessons.

After a long, long brake I decided to finish this piece.
I put some highlights and shadows on the cloak during last weekend. Later on I will add some weathering on the lower portions.

Looking forward to your feedback my friends.

Nice to sse that you are back Piotr,

The yellow seems to change a bit in the right direction. Keep working, Its gonna be good.

The only thing is the color of your background. Although I love it, it is hard to evaluate your work on the yellow part right now cause the burgundy is a strong color. Maybe later with other colors on the figure, this burgundy color will be more adequate for the figure.

But that is only my opinion. If you like it that was then, it is the right color!!!! :D

YOu're about 12 miles east of me. . .

Piotr:

You certainly are doing well. yellow and other very light colours like white,
off white are very hard to paint. I notice you live in Raytown, which
for those outside the USA is in the Greater Kansas City area on the Missouri
side of the Kansas Missouri state border. Piotr I am to the west of you
in Overland Park, about 12 miles or so. . .

Welcome to Plantfigure,
