Excellent work Johan...........I too found fitment problems with this figure when I dry fitted all the parts. A shame Andrea's figures suffer this in their large mm figs.

Your comments are all much appreciated.

Gary, your comment on the cloak causes me even more headaches than the fitting of parts. It's an extremely difficult colour to work with. It's true that the lighting of the photo diminishes the highlights on the cloak a fair bit, but I have to admit that I also have some doubts about it. The problem is that my clubmembers say that I should leave the cloak as it is. I'm in a dilemma now, because I fear to ruin the figure's cloak by trying to highlight any further, having to work wet on dry .

Guy, indeed it's been said before that Andrea suffers from this problem. I think I won't be bying their figures in the near future as I hate too much preparation on a figure. It's the painting that I like!

Hi Johan excelent work.I have the same opinion of you with the prices of figures of large scale i thinck that , the manufacturers can work more and made pieces very easy to asembly.I like to paint not asembly.
What do you thinck?

How do you paint the protections of legs?.

I use inker prints and you?

Andrea seems to be getting less concerned about ease of assembly than they are about just getting product out. That's a shame.

For now, leav it as it is. Bring it next thuesday and we talk it over. In my opinion you are a very, very good painter of the figures that you are involved with the Romans.
I've never seen a bad painted Roman out of your hands. I think you must set your figures in 2007 in the categorie Masters.

Really nice looking figure ! I really have'nt found a Roman figure that I could pass up and have done some of them multiple times, but somehow I must've missed this one. I'm gonna have to get him. As for cleanup of figures (flash removal etc.) I've actually hired a teenager (have better eyesight) to do the metal figures for me. I get to paint and leave the otherwise tedious work for them. Works for me!

Johan, I realized I needed help in that area when I painted over a flash line on a 54mm figure that I missed even after I primed it.
