Guys,
I just sent this e-bay dealer an e-mail, asking him if he knew that his business activities are illegal, and also asking him if e-bay knows that he is conducting business illegally.

I am requesting that when you see these posts on this site (starting with this post), or Armorama or Timelines that you do the same thing.

If these "poachers" get hit up with a lot of pesky e-mails, it may help curtail their activities.

I never use e-bay. Is there a way to post a blurb on the actual listing? I couldnt figure out how to do that.

Regards,
John

The Dork of the Bay

Ok, guys. Although I don't quite understand why someone would bother to copy a PiLiPiLi figure, I filed a formal complaint to eBay but I ain't holding my breath though :(.

Because the problem is elsewhere. Remember the old slogan of yore "Suppose they gave a war and nobody came"? Now suppose they put pirate copies on sale and nobody's buying. The problem would be solved in 2 seconds flat.

This piracy thing is a two-headed monster: the pirate AND his client. The guy who buys a pirate copy is as guilty as one who made it. The usual excuse 'I didn't know it's a copy' won't hold because in this day and age, there's NO such thing as an innocent or naive consumer. We know damn well what we're buying, either a Rolex OR a Casio. But a Rolex at the price of a Casio?

From whence I came (the 1960s :p), we were led to believe in certain things like hard work, honesty and fair play. I reckon that they're completely outdated in these modern times and that this whole bidness makes me sound like an old fart .

But hey, this is a brand-new day. Enjoy it before some enterprising chap decide to 'revise' it and put it on sale on the Bay!

Well said Quang
I too am a "Child of the sixties" and if the standards then were applied now perhaps a lot of this deception would stop!

Child of the sixties? Flower power and mini-skirts!
Hey ho we can still dream........

Cheers mate

Pirate

I tried to email this slug but the email came back with "fatal errors".

Another avenue to approach hurting these guys is to contact Customs in their country and the countries they sell to. Let them know that illegal goods are being imported/exported.
