Those Winsor & Newton labels are from the late 1970's. Instant nostalgia.

Too pretentious for me at the time. Winsor & Newton Artists quality, la-dee-da! I was painting my Historex with Winton.

Can we have an oldest tube of paint contest?

I lost my really ancient ones in a house move so I can't join in; 20 years old is nothing. What sizing was used for paints before ML? Was it fluid ounces?

That would be about right I gave up painting in 1984 and joined a band . Didn't restart till I heard of PF and contacted Dave Mitchel who was a long Tim fellow modeller and PF member
Those tubes are marked in ML

Much as I'd love to I've still got another 4 weeks behaving myself following surgery, nothing to serious, a 'primary intervention' and purely elective. Brian has been sensible and has been well hunkered down. Davie currently has tons of work, so it's probably sensible to hold fire until things hopefully settle a bit more.

I have tons of work also but this old body is beginning to rebel

Get well soon Del.

Very good indeed Ron. Thank you for the additional information on the groundwork. For amateurs like me who work on their own and don't have access to clubs, this forum and the work displayed is very useful.

Take care and stay safe,
Regards
Chris

Great to see you producing some stuff again.

Cheers

Hi Huw

The rider for this horse has not came up to scratch re the painting and is in the acid bath along with the other one for the previous horse.
At this rate I'm going to end up with a stable full of horses:eek: maybe just paint horses and sell them off :D

Hi Ron,

Judging by the horses I’m looking forward to seeing the riders.

I’ve sorted out my collection post separation and during the lockdown used a lot of acetone. You’re not alone.

Cheers

Was that a freudian slip or did you spell Time wrong.Davie the tim:ROFLMAO:
Your painting looks top notch and the groundwork is spot on.I'm choking for a bevy, but god knows when we can hit the pubs.

By the way Ron,there's a cracking Arabian horse 54mm on El Greco's site.Made by Figurinitaly who produce some top quality stuff. You also get 2 heads with the horse and at £17.75p is a bargain
