Hi Chris

I have this in stock and have done quite a bit of research on it including some dialogue with Ron Volstad. Don't know if you know but it's based on a very famous set of photos from The Ardennes Kampf group Hansen. There has been debate for years re what he is wearing, is it a captured US poncho, as it was thought not to be a zeltbahn as no cammo versions are very rare. Latest thinking is it is a Zeltbham and the film and weather conditions do not show the cammo pattern. Great figure but a very confusing situation, the box top is extremly well painted but accuracy is dubious as the cape is sculpted as a zeltbahn but painted as poncho. The cape can be converted to a poncho if you wish easily, or you choose an SS cammo pattern which would be appropriate. I haven't yet researched which patten would be most likely for Hansen in 44.

Are you on FB messenger if so let me know and I can send you some links.

Cheers

Neil

If you don't mind the suggestion Taff,
You can borrow my dremel, grind off the detail and resculpt as a Napoleonic ?
Seriously, good luck with him.

Please don't Chris....seriously interpreting WW2 photographs with the nuances of light different emulsions on the contemporary film stock, false shadows and so on makes it so difficult for all you khaki and grey painters you really do have my sympathy.

Paul.
