Anybody feeling tempted by the new 300 GB pounds SMAUG kit from Games Workshop. Must admit to a soft spot for winged leathery creatures..

The Mcfarlane examples were really rather good but this resin kit does follow the usual GW philosophy of eye watering price tags..
I suppose it depends on how much of your income is disposable..and what you can get past SWMBO.

That's better than $600CND :nailbiting:

That's 15 54mm figs, 10 75mm figs or what I just paid for a brand new springer front end for my chop

Nice model but the price tag is simply stupid!

That's my 2c worth ;)

In my humble but very honest opinion, anyone who buys this kind of overpriced over hyped over marketed stock from the wobbly wizard shop needs to be tested for the potential requirement for a full frontal Lobotomy.

The target market is, in the main those usually overindulged under 18's spending dad's money in the main encouraged to do so because it gets them out of the house and away from minecraft on their ixpad 380 or whatecer

A few years ago these same "modellers" would have also raved about the sane sort of empty box that showed completed dioramas with no instructions, the need for extra parts not included, and a very glamorous highly priced additional book to show you how house staff can paint them, when supplied with everything for free by the manufacturer.
They were called verlinden scenic items.
Wonder whatever happened to them.
The sooner it happens to gw the better, but there's always a new generation of naiaivity to exploit ,waiting in the wings isn't there?

Oh sorry I forgot to say,
No I have no interest, but thanks for sharing and good luck.

I can see what the general concensus is then:eek: Interesting that the pre christmas 200 were sold out within days..So somebody has disposable income..Or really really nice partner back at the ranch.
For me I think I prefer Cang from CMON... does not talk and has more attitude :)

GW is all about packaging and marketing so a few lumps of resin in a bag are unlikely to sell. Form over substance.

Agreed! Funny you should mention that set, Zane - it's my favourite too, but at 500+ Aussie bucks, I'm waiting until I win Lotto ;)
I agree with Nick and Zane... I love the Cossack vignette but had to hold off at around $450 Canadian + postage... BUT... I'd much rather spend that kinda dough on a set like that... If I had that kinda dough in the first place :sour:
