Seeing as how I don't drink or smoke, or have a girlfriend, I am free to give my money to the Vallejo family.

I know this will be a tiny collection compared to some people on here, but I just love looking at it and then arranging them in number order. Maybe one day I will buy some figures that require blues and purples, not just WWII camo. :)

You are not on your own!
I also have the complete Andrea set - how sad!
I must say though, a lot of the colours away from the base ones can easily be mixed but it does save some time and of course looks impressive! The main thing is that they are used to paint great figures.
Cheers

Hmm mMartin do i see some of Valejo's snow on lower right corner? have u used it ? i have ithere not used yet
Not purchased any Vallejo snow yet, as I have a bag full of the Small Shop EU stuff. I have plans for a dio with some eastern front soldiers that will need a lot of snow, so maybe the Vallejo snow is on my shopping list. The larger bottles are thinner and varnishes.

I have a modest, but growing collection of Vallejo paints. I just need to get away from sculpting long enough to try them out.~Gary

I think if there were true "paint collectors" out there, we'd see a series of annoying, recurring threads here titled, "What color paint would you like to see Vallejo produce this year?"

I had at least that many Vallejos - most of which I recently gave away since I don't use them anymore. I now have the full line (30 tubes?) of Jo Sonja acryllics, plus about 25 Testor's enamels, and various jars of Liquitex that I use for goundwork. Then, I have god-knows-how-many tubes of oils from various manufacturers.

I do call myself a collector of paints and kits. Every so often, they all fall together in the general patterns of a finshed figure.

.. and Steve, I wish they'd bring back brown madder alizrian.

From that I deduce you either, drink, smoke, or have a girlfriend/wife. maybe all the above. :)

Roger.
LOL! I was referring to people's comments about 'what do you spend your money on?' I paint as if I am drunk most days. Worked for some of the old masters, but not me. ;)

Martin, it must be difficult living in Hamburg and having no bad habits :)
Nice paint collection by the way. I'll let you guess what mines like, I'm married with three kids and a dog and I enjoy the odd glass of beer.

Well my love of Hamburg goes further than just Vallejo paints, but since I guess some guys let their kids read these pages, I will just let you imagine what I spend some of my spare cash on. I bet you have a decent collection, if you can get past the head guard at the door.

I made a conscious effort to avoid collecting paint many years ago - being a stingy bastard sure helped :) - but wanting to test various acrylic and vinyl brands and trying different pigments meant I had to eventually buy more than the 12-15 acrylics I used for most of the last 20 years. Then there's oil paint, alkyd, watercolour and casein.

I'm acquainted with some oil painters who have more blues than this  Seriously, one guy has over 300 tubes of paint, any wonder he's considering making his own at this point, he could have bought another car by now!

Phil, you reading this? Come on, own up, how many do you have now? ;)

Amen to that Pat.

I recently calculated that if I built/painted one item a month from my kit collection and grey army, and never bought any more I'd have enough to last until I was 90! Sobering thought.

As for paint, I've got the full Andrea set plus maybe 30 Vallejos - not bad for an oil painter. Oh, I've got a "few" oils as well, plus probably 50 Lifecolor, maybe 30 Citadel, 15 Chromacolor and a whole drawer full of Humbrol. Some day I'll get around to learning how to paint with them!

Phil

Do not worry... I have 2/3 of the Model Colour series, the entire Game Colour and Citadel range... Take a lot of place on the desk

Phil - I'm scared to count the number of kits and flats I have. But, if I count the big boxes they're in, it's six boxes. Of course they're not all in those boxes! Based on your formula, I will be immortal! ;)

Martin I don't see any oils and enamels

Only then you get access to the crazy circle of paint collectors
