Im trying to find information on the Britains 18” cannon in particular how the mechanism of the spring shells work which I cannot find anywhere.
Im not able to locate any Britains figures or vintage toy figure forums and wonder if they are under a different title ?

Thanks Nap for quick reply ….alas I can’t get into the Face Book pages as I’m not signed up for Face Book . The Britains site did come up and the other which had good info but not the description of the mechanism of the shells. But it’s a lot more info than I had so I appreciate your links.

Hi, Bluebottle and welcome to the Planet!

As far as the current WBritains website goes, I don't know how much they'll be able to help with classic Britains toy soldiers and other pieces. I think they might be more focused on items produced since the mid- to late 90s, in the "collector's toys" era. But it's worth reaching out to them.

I recommend a toy soldier forum, though, the Treefrog Treasures Toy Soldier forum (name is a long story). The main URL is https://forum.treefrogtreasures.com/. I am a member there, with the same handle. There are very knowledgeable collectors of classic Britains, as well as those who collect the more recent products. There is a lot of knowledge there on toy soldiers, period. I would ask there. Post as many photos or illustrations you have, too.

I hope that helps, prosit!
Brad

Thanks Baron , ive just registered for the tree frog site but now it’s waiting for authorisation to come thru before I can use it. But it looks good so well worth it.
