Have you looked at the free books on the KindleRog? I picked up all of Rider Haggards stuff,Conan Doyle loads of stuff for little or nowt

If you haven't read it Howards book on the France Prussian war is recognised as the definite work Roger.

I can't believe anyone would pay £20 for a Kindle book!? I have one but only for novels and only if they are cheaper than a paperback.

I have read Howard's book Keith and yes it is very good.
I can see what you mean re. £20 for a Kindle book I don't normally spend that much but it caught my eye and it's the price that's putting me off a bit. The beauty of it for me is it saves lugging a bag full of books to Aberdeen and back when it's already full off stuff for a month away.

Just a quick update, Marlborough's Wars: Eyewitness Accounts 1702 - 1713 is a really good read, I'm about 3/4 through and would recommend it to anyone with an interest in this period of history.
The love interest is a surprising anecdote by an eyewitness involving an English Officer and a horse!!! The officer was subsequently hung and the horse shot.... I presume for not putting up much of a struggle.

Roger.
