Really like the detail changes you've made (and glad to see that his whiskers won't be curly) I like the contrasting tome of hat and shirt too.
Never came across slaters letters before; presumably plastic or etched brass?

Sorry catching up on this ....yes Slaters is plastic similar to the Historex figures , comes in various sizes , I used smallest but still had to sand a lot to reduce thickness ........and remove one supeglued to my finger !
Verbal update ...as we are nearly at tge finishing line
Hat completed kept it a different colour to uniform , feathers were a pain to paint !
Going tommorow at end of chin strap I added ...not keen on that ...
All leatherwork finished
Will be attempting to add a swivel sling and then paint the rifle using these references ....teeth still to paint but mouth is done
Whiskers will be last ....no curly ones !
