The APG Show scheduled for 3-5 Aug is rapidly approaching. I wanted to post a few updates.
The Doug Cohen Painting Workshop is now full. If you are interested I can add your name to a list of standby's.
I'm still reserving seats for the Fredericksburg/Chancellorsville Battlefield tours. You'll need to have a seat reserved for this event. Contact me at [email protected] to get on board. Cost is $10 for the bus. We're planning on having lunch available for an additional fee. More on that later.
We are not going to do a banquest this year. We will have a cocktail hour at 7pm Sat followed by a presentation at 8pm by Fredericksburg Park Historian Frank OReilly. He will speak on the death of Jackson.
We're are hosting a Hospitaility Suite this year. If you, your group, or club would be interested in helping to sponsor the suite please contact me. Any donations will be accepted.
We're going back to a competion format this year. The awards design has been approved. I'll post an image when available. We are also seeking sponsors for awards.
Lee Peshke has offered to host the popular Chicago Women's Tea at our show Sat afternoon. I think Dave will be making an appearence in his kilt.
The hotel is now accepting reservations. Don't wait. We've got a great rate on the rooms so don't miss out. Get your reservations now.
The auction is shaping up well. In addition to the pieces on our auction page I've received commitments for pieces by Keith Rocco (an original painting), John Rosengrant, Greg DiFranco, Jason Whitman, Anders Heintz, and several pieces from Dutch Allen's collection. I'll name the pieces and hopefully have photos on the site right after the MFCA Show. Bidding information for absentee bidders will be posted on our site soon. http://www.artistpreservationgroup.com/2012-Auction.html
We've also invited the local AMPS and IPMS guys to the show so there should be some really nice armor and plastic on display.
The National Museum of the Marine Corps will be doing a uniform display on Sat. at the hotel. I may also have surprise courtesy of the Marine Corps a little down the road. Stay tuned.
If you are interested in attending the tours, Women's Tea, or want to get on the standby list for the Cohen Workshop contact me at [email protected].
For more info or to book a room go to the Show Page on our website http://www.artistpreservationgroup.com/2012-APG-Show.html
