Hi All,
In Australia and New Zealand, soon we will be commemorating and remembering our servicemen, from all conflicts.

While a National event for both Australia and New Zealand, I would also like to take a moment to remember all those who were involved in the Gallipoli conflict.

the forces comprised of troops drawn from Australia, New Zealand, British India, Newfoundland, United Kingdom, France, French West Africa, Turkey, Germany, Austria & Hungary.

While many of us have a quiet pride for our own home country, a pause to remember those from other countries, and keep a historical perspective on the sacrifice paid by all involved.

Regards to all

and respect for our servicemen, past, present, future

I've marched in the Anzac parade in Sydney when i served with the RAAF in the 1970s and had a great feeling of pride to take part although i'm a Jock.
Is it still legal to play "Twos up" on Anzac day?
Brian

ANZAC Day is always an emotional time for my family.

I fondly recall marching down St Georges Terrace in Perth alongside my Dad and Grandfather on ANZAC Day in the 1970's. Grandpa wearing his WW2 medals, Dad in uniform wearing his Vietnam medals and me wearing my Great Uncle Walter's medals from WW1.

On Saturday, I'll be marching with my two sons and my wife. I'll be wearing my Dad's medals and my eldest son Tom wearing my Grandfather's medals and my youngest son Nicky wearing my Great Uncle's medals. For the past 10 years, my boys and I have proudly carried the banner for the Australian Army Task Force Headquarters, Vietnam in the ANZAC Day march here in Perth. My wife will be marching with the men of RAF Bomber Command wearing her father's medals. He served as a rear gunner in Lancasters during WW2

Each of us are proud to march in place of a family member who served in war and who is sadly no longer with us.

Will will remember them. Lest we forget.

My son lives in New Zealand, just sent him word to buy the first couple of soldiers he sees today a beer. Met a few of these boys in Singapore when they were coming home from Vietnam and they were really great chaps. A credit to their country and their countries should be proud of them.

Hi all,

just got back from a friend's wedding bash between a pom and an aussie! In his speech the brides father pointed out that because they were marring on Anzac Day, it was a very good omen!

Cheers,
Jon.
