Has long had in mind making an arc of light led to my desk so you can illuminate well the figures for painting. Received strip cool white LED with a corresponding transformer.

I began to seek what would be the basis of the leds, I found a piece of flexible plastic which serve his purpose. Leds strip was 5 meters with which I did five pieces of one meter and was sticking side by side so you have five bars of light, once glued welds made relevant positive to positive and negative to negative, causing a hole by which he would remove the adapter transformer. The top of the paint in a fluoro yellow to thereby better see the top when I paint at night.

To make the arch support, it was clear he did not want anything too big and of course had to be completely dismantled for transport. As simple as two pieces of wood 20cm long and 6 meters wide in which a recess made with the miter to insert the arc, and had the support and now it was opened prevent, solve it with a simple strip of tape the which prevents it from moving or is opened by the force of the arc and do not notice anything thickness under our hands because it measures less than 2 mm grueso.De this way is completely removable and does not take anything from the site. You have some pictures of all the components and how is once finished, I hope you like .......... Greetings.

Main drawback for me would be having to tidy the desk up to that standard  Looks a great idea though

Very clever idea, how does it compare with daylight illumination? Sometimes these bright lights over emphasize the highlights and shadows which look great in the evening and are almost invisible the next day in daylight. I found that I had to over exaggerate everything to compensate. I recently bought two floor standing daylight lamps which give me almost perfect balance between artificial and natural light.

Be interesting to hear how you manage with your idea which looks pretty cost effective.......two lamps cost me £150.
