Welcome back, good to see these fellas again, a new rifle attests to the amount of work involved, I get a bottle of red wine at best, still my last attempt at building was a disaster. I made a brick BBQ stand, it was OK to.my eyes, if I leaned in the same direction anyway, needless to say it was never used and soon demolished!

Good work on the flags, a real pain masking like that but as you say we'll worth the effort.

Cheers Simon

Feel free to skip this paragraph, it's my sorry excuse for no progress, I've been busting my butt around here, including building a 17.5mx0.8m retaining wall, which is fine if I were a builder, but I'm not; remedial earthworks around the pool to make it council compliant, and shifting a few cubic metres of soil, by hand, which is fine if I identified as a Cat excavator, but I don't; and a myriad of other things, too. So much in fact, my wife brought me a new rifle (Ruger American in .300blk if you're interested); and I've prep a lamb for the freezer, it is currently hanging in a friend's chiller. Sadly, the rifle did not come with any time to use it or finish these guys...

Picking up where I left off, these need a lot of remedial work to a) finish, and b) make presentable. What's a little paint between friends.

I took these into the sunlight after so long away, and left the rose tinted glasses on the table, talk about amateur hour stuff. Best stop the whining, and start the painting!

Very nice work so far. You apparently have an awesome wife. The Ruger American is a nice rifle! Congrats.
Interested to see more on these figures, impressive work so far and thanks for posting.

I need to dull coat both, and dust up this guy. I did start to dull coat them, but when testing for consistency of the paint, it came up cloudy, so I may need new paint.

Things took a giant leap forward when I cleared a backlog of 'to dos' and installed a workbench, rather than bringing out boxes, setting things up, a bit of work, and then packing it all away again, which really killed my motivation to work on these guys. It is only two and a half years late, but things around here are at the point I will have some leisure time. Also, I found my opti-visor, and combined with the white light, not the yellow hue of a house light, I can see clearly the areas that need "more attention". Yes, that is a photograph of Her Majesty, that became spare at work with Charles taking over the family business. I'll grab his portrait, too. I might fit a bracket to the light so that is slightly out from the wall and facing down, not forward.

the figures are not show winners, the next one is... I'm happy with both, even if the heads did not fit when it came to finishing them off, not something you want to discover that late in the game, but I'd make both again.

cheers fellas

Be interesting to see how you base them up

A cracking pair of figures, both look really good, with you on the heads thing, no matter how many times I test fit, something won't fit right at final assembly.

Not sure I'd be too happy with the old boss looking over my shoulder though, I'd have to curtail the language!

Cheers Simon

Thank you, gents, I appreciate the feedback.

Yes, having the boss present keeps me honest, well, sort of. Most of the time. Having taken the oath, and not discharged yet, I like having her there.

I think they turned out well! I must comment on your bench. So very neat and love the picture of Her on the left. My bench is a cluttered mess.
