Another in the superb series of Armies of the Past books from this author. These books are the Osprey books on steroids, a must-have for anybody with an interest in the subject or period, and a God send for modellers.
There are nine chapters in this book, covering main events of the time span covered and a potted history, with the final chapter covering the actual weaponry used by the various tribes. The history and events while brief are well covered and very informative. This also applies to the weaponry chapter as well.
As with the other books in this series the real value is the photographic plates, featuring re-enactors and all in full colour. These are so very useful for anybody wanting a guide to modelling or painting these people and this period. As with the others a well deserved 5 out of 5, Excellent value for money at £20
